HIMMEL®-gear motors are used to drive low speed machines. They are used where desired output speeds cannot be economically achieved with conventional electric motors. The gearbox and motor are assembled into a sturdy and elegant unit. The gear units can be supplied as foot or flange-mounted and, with the appropriate amount of lubricant, can be installed in any position. Electromagnetic brakes, backstops and speed monitors can be added. The design principle of geared motors achieves low noise emissions and space-saving drive solutions due to the compact size of the design. The cast iron gearbox housing is stable, vibration-damping, and designed for continuous operation. Oil leakage or ingress of dust is prevented by radial shaft seals equipped with a dust lip. All gears are milled, scraped crowned or ground and surface hardened. Helical gear teeth achieve supreme running smoothness. The maximum permissible radial and axial forces must be observed.

Himmel® agitator gear unit motors are widely used in sewage treatment plants but also used in cosmetics, chemical, pharmaceutical or the food industry. The gear unit is generally mounted on the agitator in a vertical orientation.
As the Himmel® agitator gear units must withstand high axial and radial forces; they are equipped with a reinforced abrasion shaft and reinforced bearing as standard and therefore offer high operational safety.

HIMMEL® cooling tower gear motors serve to drive large fans for cooling industrial water or for use in air conditioning systems. Cooling tower gear motors are helical gear motors with reinforced axial and radial bearings. They are equipped as standard with a hood over the fan cover providing protection from rain and other weather conditions.

A finely staged range of gear units with 6 sizes of gear unit always allows a choice of the most suitable drive and therefore offers cost advantages. Himmel® electric overhead track gear motors are designed to be modular, perfectly matched to each other and can be extended as required. They are characterized by the highest availability and a largely maintenance-free operation. The gear units are supplied as worm gears, spur and three-stage bevel gears.
They are equipped with a mechanical dog clutch that can be shifted under load. The gear units are suitable for different mounting positions.
The main applications of the electric overhead track geared motors lie in the automotive, food and packaging industries.

HIMMEL® Variable speed belt gear motors are space-saving, continuously adjustable drives. In the standard version the central adjustment is made with a hand wheel. Unlike inverter operation the motor power remains constant and the torque increases if the speed of the motor drops. The variable speed gear unit housing has a proven symmetrical design. The adjusting pulleys have a wedge shaped symmetrical cross section with low mass. The shape of the pulleys ensures uniform flank pressure and therefore high power transmission, even at high belt speed.
The result is optimal control behaviour with uniform distribution of forces and minimal energy consumption.
| Features | Unit | Value |
| Power | kW | 0,37 to 160 |
| Torque | Nm | 1 to 1100 |
| Speed | min1/rpm | 248 to 3900 |
| Adjustment range | 1:2,8 to 1:5,5 |

HIMMEL® Friction gear motors are a mechanical infinitely variable drive with a frictional force transmission for horizontal and vertical arrangement, available in nine sizes. If the output speed decreases the torque increases – this is the basic principle of the friction gear unit. Unlike inverter operation the motor power remains constant and the torque increases if the output speed of the motor drops. The infinitely variable adjustment of the friction gear unit enables gear reduction ratio as well as gear gain ratios. Friction gear units find their main applications in the textile and food industries.
The power is transmitted through one or two consecutively arranged pairs of friction wheels. The pressing force needed for power transmission is generated by a cam curve depending on the applied load. The pressure required when starting is provided by a compression spring. Actuating the adjusting device causes the effective diameter of the driving and driven cone to change. This results in a change in output speed.

For sizes LK2 to LK5:
| Feature | Unit | Value |

HIMMEL® Variable chain drives (FMB-Variatoren®) are mechanically infinitely adjustable all-metal belt gear units for horizontal and vertical arrangement, available in four sizes. If the output speed decreases the torque increases – this is the basic principle HIMMEL® Variable chain drives (FMB-Variatoren®). Unlike inverter operation the motor power remains constant and the torque increases if the speed of the motor drops. For example, ideal for winding drives, accumulating conveyors or conveyor belts.
The positive linkage between chain and gear wheel allows for constant speeds even with torque fluctuations and very good reproducibility of speeds. Standard variable gear units force the transmission element by applying excessive force – this is unnecessary and reduces the degree of efficiency.
HIMMEL® Variable chain drives (FMB-Variatoren®) apply a lever mechanism, which applies only as much pressure on the slat chain as necessary. This results in low operating temperatures, long life, high power density and an excellent efficiency – even in the partial load range.

| Power | kW | 1 to 30 |
| Torque | Nm | up to 3 200 |
| Control range | up to 6 | |
| Ratio | up to 1: 30,7 |
